Mzansi actor Cornet Mamabolo is best known for his starring role, as Thabo ‘Tbose’ Maputla on the educational drama Skeem Saam.
The 30-year-old Cornet Mamabolo is one of the original actors on Skeem Saam, and he starred on the show since season 1 in 2011.
The actor has gone through such a glow-up from his youthful days, to the present, such that fans were pretty surprised at his transformation.
Cornet Mamabolo remarked that even before he was famous and got a breakthrough, he always knew he was a powerhouse, destined for bigger things.
Well, we have to take into consideration that filter game back in the days was low, so it’s like those awkward photos from long ago that we all don’t want to gaze at for too long.
You might be surprised to know that Cornet Mamabolo originally didn’t want to be an actor, as a child he instead wanted to be a biotechnologist.
However the performing bug took hold of him and he attended Witwatersrand University in the years 2009–2012, where he studied for a Bachelor of Arts in the dramatic arts.
His character Thabo Maputla is considered the heart of Skeem Saam, such that fans rioted when the showrunners hinted that he would be killed off.
The fans even went far as searching for the script online, so they could see if Thabo Maputla would be mentioned.
There was unmitigated rejoicing on the internet, when fans realized that his character would be back in action, he wasn’t dead at all.
Cornet Mamabolo is also a philanthropist and gives back to his community.
Back in 2018, he achieved his dream of building a library in his village, Maripathekong, in GaMolepo, Limpopo.
