ActionSA has announced that Dr Nasiphi Moya will be its candidate for the position of Deputy Executive Mayor in Tshwane. The party says the creation of the position in the city will ensure the delivery of basic services and provide stability in the coalition agreement.
The multi-party coalition in Tshwane has been unstable since its inception in 2021. Political wrangling has rocked the city at the cost of the delivery of basic services.
On Thursday, the Tshwane Council is due to sit for the election of the deputy mayor. Moya explains the role of the deputy mayor.
“I think the main thing that’s going to happen is that they will start to see more of the MMCs on the ground with communities following the money ensuring that the services that are budgeted for are actually getting delivered to the community,” says Moya.
“I think that’s the first thing that they should watch out for once the election is done and we give a day or two to get our plans together and the following we could hit the ground running obviously I’m still on the outside we just waiting for the elections,” Moya adds.
