Former football star Jimmy Tau and prominent media executive Thabile Ngwato have responded to growing speculation that they recently tied the knot in a secret ceremony.
The pair, who have kept their relationship largely out of the public eye, have asked for privacy regarding their personal lives.
Their reaction comes in the wake of a Sunday World report published on 11 May, claiming that Tau and Ngwato got married in a discreet ceremony held in Muldersdrift, Gauteng, almost two weeks prior.

The report quickly set social media abuzz, with fans of both the former Kaizer Chiefs defender and the Newzroom Afrika CEO sharing their reactions online.
SABC sports journalist Xoliswa Zondo took to her X (formerly Twitter) account on 15 May, relaying a message from the couple.
According to her, “Ms Ngwato and Mr Tau have requested that details of their wedding remain private as they have not courted publicly.”
Tau also addressed lingering rumours linking him to Tsholofelo Mhlongo, his alleged baby mama.
Responding to claims that they were previously married, the ex-footballer did not provide further comment but appeared intent on putting the speculation to rest.
Social media users had mixed responses, with some praising the low-key approach.
One user, @g_mapaya, humorously commented: “Jimmy Tau is doing exactly what we asked him to do at the men’s conference. Wena slender, wena sdudla, wena yellowbone.”
Despite the buzz, both Tau and Ngwato remain firm on keeping their relationship and private matters out of the public domain.
