Blaze above Boyes Drive largely contained, firefighting efforts now focused on Kalk Bay, Cape Town! A section of Boyes Drive remains closed as firefighters work to contain a wildfire burning on the slopes of Table Mountain National Park in Cape Town.
The blaze, which broke out earlier on Sunday morning, has been slowly spreading toward Kalk Bay and St James.

Crews from SANParks, the City of Cape Town, and Volunteer Wildfire Services have managed to bring the fire largely under control, with authorities confirming that the blaze is about 90 percent contained.
City Fire and Rescue Services spokesperson Jermaine Carelse says crews will remain on scene until all embers are fully extinguished to prevent any flare-ups.
“Our efforts are now focused on extinguishing the fire near Kalk Bay and once again, the collaboration with the various agencies TMNP, VWS, and NCC, yielded positive results.”
