City of Joburg & Eskom reach agreement over R3.2 billion debt! The City of Johannesburg (CoJ) and Eskom have finally reached an agreement regarding the metro’s outstanding debt to the power utility, confirming the city will settle its R3.2 billion debt.

The city had initially refused to pay the full amount, claiming it was overcharged by more than R800 million.

Electricity Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, said the two had finally found one another.
