Her management agency, Eye Media Artists, confirmed the heartbreaking news, saying Meme passed away on Tuesday night, 25 June.

“It is with deep sorrow and reverence that we announce the passing of Meme, a beloved South African actress, legendary comedic talent, and a true veteran of our screen and stage,” read the official statement.

It’s reported that she complained of body pains last week and, tragically, succumbed to her condition just a week later at a local hospital, according to a source.

Meme was from Letlhabile in Brits, North West.

The Ga re Dumele and The Coconuts actress was celebrated for her sharp wit, infectious laugh, and commanding presence.

Meme, a beloved household name, brought life and energy to every screen she appeared on.

From her early days on local productions to her standout roles on SABC, e.tv, MultiChoice, and even Netflix, Meme showed Mzansi the power of raw talent.
