The little girl’s body was found on Saturday near a graveyard in Mathafeni, Nelspruit, four days after she was reported missing.

Preliminary investigations suggest the child may have been s.e.xually assaulted.
Provincial police spokesperson Donald Mdhluli says investigations are ongoing to ensure those responsible for this horrific crime are brought to justice.
“The young girl went missing on Monday evening (23 June 2025). It is said that her father left the girl, together with her younger sister (4), at their residential place in Mathafeni around 20h40 to purchase some items at the nearby tuck shop. The father is said to have informed his children to lock the shack for safety purposes.”
