Police ramping up efforts to combat abductions after man rescued in Germiston! The South African Police Service (SAPS)’s national anti-kidnapping unit is ramping up efforts to combat abductions following the rescue of a 30-year-old man in Germiston, Ekurhuleni.
The male victim and his car were taken on Thursday by an unknown number of suspects.

Police spokesperson Amanda van Wyk said a day later, the victim’s abandoned vehicle was found in Dawn Park, while he was discovered at a property in Germiston.
“With support from a tactical unit, the team entered the premises and successfully rescued the victim. Two suspects were arrested at the scene, while others managed to flee during a shootout with police.”
This latest rescue comes just days after the highly publicised case of Kamogelo Baukudi, who was abducted by fake police officers in Bloemfontein three weeks ago.
Baukudi was also found alive earlier this week during a police operation that led to the arrest of five suspects.
