NPA making progress in efforts to prosecute those accused of looting at Transnet! The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) said that it is making progress in its efforts to prosecute those accused of looting Transnet.
This follows the arrest of four of the parastatal’s former executives Brian Molefe, Siyabonga Gama, Anoj Singh, and Thamsanqa Jiyane appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where they were each granted bail of R50,000.

They are accused of diverting R93 million from a controversial locomotive deal in 2015 to a company linked to the Gupta family.
This isn’t the first time the group has faced the law as they’re also charged in another fraud and corruption case related to this matter.
Spokesperson for the NPA’s Investigating Directorate for corruption Henry Mamothame said that no stone will be left unturned.
“At this stage, i will not disclose anything regarding matters of investigation. However, we will move with the four that are facing charges before this court. We are dealing with very complex matters that emanate from state capture.”
