Public Protector says in the end, the truth will come out over collapse of KZN’s political killings task team! Advocate Kholeka Gcaleka says in the end, the truth will come out, as she’s been asked to investigate the collapse of KwaZulu-Natal’s political killings task team.

Gcaleka, speaking on the publication’s Politricking with Tshidi Madia, even before the African Transformation Movement (ATM)’s complaint had reached her office, said the principles of law would have to apply in testing the allegations.

KZN Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi has accused Police Minister Senzo Mchunu of political interference.

The ATM said it believes Mchunu’s actions were taken without even consulting the police’s top brass, and it wants Gcaleka’s office to investigate the minister for misconduct.

The Public Protector said she was simply shocked by the bombshells dropped by Mkhwanazi at his Sunday media briefing.

She already understood that this was a matter that might find its way to her office.

Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi

“It’s basically the principles of law, of saying what happened, what should have happened, if there’s a discrepancy in what has happened, what has been reported, how should that be remedied? So, and what happened is not just a one-sided story, is getting the version of everybody else.

Gcaleka called on the country at this stage to allow for due process to take its course.
