I think Bloemfontein Celtic was caught up in the crossfire,” she said. “Today, I must say I apologise profusely for changing the name. I could’ve done better.”

Reflecting on the Decision

MaMkhize’s apology comes shortly after it was announced that she had purchased another football club, this time in Swaziland. Reflecting on that, she noted how she now understands the importance of preserving club heritage.

She explained that her decision at the time was based on building a football legacy for her son, Andile Mpisane. “I want to say today, I’m sorry to Bloemfontein Celtic, but I think I needed to have Royal AM for the sake of my son,” she said.

Moving Forward

While fans continue to process the past, many welcomed her long-overdue apology. The gesture marks a step toward healing, even as MaMkhize continues expanding her football footprint.
