Cape Town SASSA grant recipients left frustrated after having to queue in cold & wet conditions! Frustrated grant recipients have once again been queuing outside South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) offices as the grant recipient review process is still underway.
SASSA held back the grants of some 210,000 recipients who are suspected of having undisclosed additional incomes.

Pensioners stood in the cold, rainy weather on Monday morning outside SASSA offices in Cape Town’s CBD, hoping to get their documents submitted.
The publication spoke to some in the queue, who were furious about how long the process was taking.
“This is unacceptable with SASSA, we’ve been standing here since 6 this morning and we’re in the rain, us elderly people, and I don’t know who’s going to do anything about it. They don’t have a specific plan, they don’t communicate with us, we don’t know what we’re supposed to do, we come here, we fill in all the forms, we leave, then they come back, they want more forms to be filled in.”
