Dagga and sharp objects recovered from pupils after police raid high schools in Inanda! Police and crime-fighting structures are conducting raids at some high schools in Inanda, north of Durban on Tuesday.
This forms part of efforts to fight crimes crimes, including gang violence, murders, and rape in the community.
Police are also expected to lead a crime prevention programme for the learners.

An unannounced raid by police and community crime-fighting structures has targeted schools identified as problematic in Inanda.
With assistance from the K9 unit, officers searched for drugs and weapons in the classrooms while others taught learners about the importance of reporting crime and also to stay away from it.
Education department spokesperson, Elijah Mhlanga: “We know that the disruptions that occur, from violence to substance abuse, drugs, alcohol, bullying and all sorts of social ills that takes place, so, we’ve come together to amplify the protocol, that agreement, which was already in existence but we’ve since revised it to ensure that we work closer together.”
During the search, dagga and other sharp objects were recovered from pupils.
