Cape Town police are investigating the murder of a 75-year-old woman in Hanover Park.
It’s still unclear how or why the elderly woman was killed.

Police spokesperson Joseph Swaartbooi said the elderly woman’s son found her deceased on Wednesday morning.
He said that cases of murder and robbery were opened.
“According to reports, the son of the deceased left the house for work on Tuesday, 22 July at about 18:30. Upon his return this morning, Wednesday, 23 July 2025, at about 07:30, he found the victim on the bed with her face on the pillow and the house in disarray.”
