KZN Treasury willing to investigate misconduct allegations in school nutrition tender process! KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) Treasury said it’s willing to probe the allegations of misconduct in a school nutrition tender process.
However, it said it has not received any evidence to support the allegations.
The National School Nutrition Programme (NSNP) Service Providers Association alleges tenders have been wrongfully awarded to companies with political ties.

The association also indicated its intention to report the allegations to KZN Treasury.
But KZN Finance MEC, Francois Rodgers, said his office has not heard from the aggrieved parties.
“MEC Francois Rodgers has noted media reports to the effect that an association of NSNP service providers plans to report allegations of tender fraud to my office for investigation. The MEC has, however, not received any formal representations on this matter at this stage,” said his spokesperson, Nkosikhona Duma.
He added that Rodgers has called on anyone with evidence to approach his office.
“To this end, his office of MEC Rodgers remains open and ready to work with all those who want to end tender fraud and corruption in KZN.”

The Department of Education has since denied involvement in the alleged wrongdoing.
