Man arrested for possession of illegal firearm in Ravensmead! A 19-year-old has been arrested for the possession of an illegal firearm in Ravensmead following several shooting incidents in the area’s policing precinct.
The man was stopped during a stop-and-search operation on Sunday.

Police spokesperson Frederick van Wyk said the suspect is expected to appear in the Goodwood Magistrates’ Court.
“When the man saw the patrol vehicle approaching, he changed direction, which resulted in the police members giving chase. The members apprehended the suspect and confiscated a CZ pistol, which was found in his possession. He was detained on a charge of possession of an unlicensed firearm.”
