Please call me inventor Nkosana Makate has suffered a slight setback in the Constitutional Court on Thursday morning, with the court granting Vodacom leave to appeal a Supreme Court judgement in his favour.
The judgement was handed down by Acting Deputy Chief Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga.

Makate took the telecommunications giant to court over compensation for the “please call me” product.
While the Supreme Court ruled in Makate’s favour last year, the apex court has set that judgement aside, and said the matter should be remitted back to the appeals court.
Meanwhile, the Constitutional Court is honouring Justice Madlanga in a special ceremony.
Madlanga retires after 17 years on the bench as a judge, 12 of which were spent in the apex court.
Chief Justice Mandisa Maya said Madlanga will be remembered for his elite judgement.
