Senzo Meyiwa trial: Defence to update court on talks with Legal Aid over discharge application! The Pretoria High Court is set to receive an update on Thursday morning on the next steps by the defence in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial.
The State closed its case last week after two years of leading evidence.
Prosecutors have drawn links between their evidence and the five men accused of the football star’s murder.

The Bafana Bafana captain was shot at the home of his girlfriend, singer Kelly Khumalo, in October 2014.
The ball is now in the defence’s court as the State has wrapped its case, in which over 50 witnesses were called.
Last week, the defence informed the court that all the accused would be bringing a section 174 discharge application.
This is brought when the defence believes that there is no real evidence against the accused for conviction, and thus no case to answer to.
But because the men’s cases are funded by Legal Aid South Africa, the defence has had to consult with the body on their intention to bring the application.
The defence will on Thursday morning give an update on its talks with Legal Aid and the way forward.
