Limpopo Premier Phophi Ramathuba is kicking off her week by visiting hospitals in the Vhembe district, where medical specialists will be performing surgeries for patients in rural areas.
The initiative targets patients who have been on waiting lists for months, and in some cases, years.

This is part of the Rural Health Matters outreach programme, launched five years ago to improve access to specialised healthcare in underserved communities.
Premier spokesperson Thilivhali Muavha said the programme will focus will be on high-demand fields, such as orthopaedics, gynae-oncology, and ophthalmology.
“The Rural Health Matters outreach programme continues to bring hope and healing where it is needed most, reaffirming the government’s commitment to ensuring that quality healthcare reaches every corner of Limpopo.”

The Limpopo hitmaker has been ordered by the Nkowankowa Magistrate’s Court to refund local promoter Eric Thoka R49 000, along with legal costs, for missing an event almost two years ago.
