On Tuesday, some residents of a block flats in Pharoepark took to the streets after Red Ants stormed their apartment blocks, forcefully removing people from their units.

The city’s housing department said the locals were being evicted over millions in housing debt.
ActionSA’s Lerato Ngobeni said the state must take responsibility when lawlessness happens in the country.
“We don’t agree at all with the burning of infrastructure. You can just imagine that office does not serve just this block of buildings, it serves the entire community.”
