Sol Phenduka breathes fire after Elon Musk’s Grok mistakes him for Deputy Minister Mmapaseka! Sol Phenduka had social media in stitches after he clapped back at Elon Musk’s AI chatbot, Grok, for confusing him with Deputy Minister Mmapaseka Steve Letsike.
The broadcaster has often been compared to the Deputy Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities, but this time, the mix-up came from artificial intelligence itself.
When a user asked Grok to identify a photo of Letsike, the bot confidently answered that it was Phenduka.
Clearly unimpressed, Sol jumped on X on Friday, 15 August 2025, to warn the chatbot in isiZulu.

“Ungazongibhedela wena @grok!!!” he wrote, which loosely translates to “Don’t mess with me!”
In response, Grok backtracked and even issued an apology: “Uxolo Sol! Ngabe ngibe nephutha ngokuthi yiwe? Sicela ungichazele ukuthi ngubani ngempela lo muntu esithombeni. Ngizolungisa. 😊”
