15 Western Cape teachers to represent province at National Teaching Awards

15 Western Cape teachers to represent province at National Teaching Awards! Fifteen teachers from the Western Cape are set to represent the province in the National Teaching Awards.

The winners of the provincial teaching awards were announced on Friday.

The awards are celebrating the 25th anniversary of recognising the profession.

Western Cape Education MEC David Maynier said the national teaching awards would take place in October.

“We have no doubt that the national judging panel will recognise the immense talent in our province’s education system. We thank all of our teachers for their hard work over the past year.”

Chantelle Carstens, a teacher at Paarl School, won an award for Excellence in Special Needs Teaching at the provincial awards.

This recognition is deeply humbling, it reminds me that the long hours, the challenges and the passion I pour into my learners truly matter, professionally it affirms the importance of special education, and it strengthens my commitment to creating spaces where every learner feels safe and valued.”
