Odwa Jack and Nokuthula Matyeseni have been charged for her rape and murder.

The family of Kowa said it’s still trying to come to terms with her murder, almost a month after they discovered her body at a dumpsite in the area.

Her alleged killer has abandoned the bail in the Khayelitsha Magistrate’s Court.

Kowa’s grandfather, Mthetheli, said they’d love to see the pair rot in jail.

“They killed our child, and our hearts are broken. How can they kill an innocent 7-year-old child? We are really suffering over this.”

The accused will be back in court on 22 October.
