The City of Cape Town said the release of its land for housing, where an existing Food Lover’s Market store in District Six is located, will change people’s lives and open new avenues.

The city council has approved the construction of a mixed-use development that will include 237 residential units and several shops.

The social housing will benefit Capetonians earning between R1,850 and R32,000 per month.

This is a 3,300 square metres property, which is close to schools, and it’s mere blocks away from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology and you have the entire city centre with all of its jobs and economic opportunities right on your doorstep,” said Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis.
