Cyan Boujee & Seemah investigated for promoting controversial Russian programme! Influencers Cyan Boujee and Seemah have landed in trouble after promoting what was advertised as an opportunity for young South African women to study and work in Russia.

In the clip, she claimed the initiative would give young women a chance to “enhance their skills and better themselves.”

But many South Africans were quick to raise red flags, warning that the so-called opportunity bore the hallmarks of a trafficking scheme.

Following the backlash, authorities stepped in.

In a statement posted on X on Sunday, 24 August 2025, the Justice, Crime Prevention and Security Cluster confirmed: “The video clip circulated by a social media influencer, which purports to promote a 2-year-long ‘START PROGRAM’ targeting young women in acquiring professional skills and commencing their careers, is currently under investigation. Notably, the author of the post has since removed the promotional video from her social media platforms.”

The cluster also urged South Africans to remain vigilant when considering overseas job or study offers.
