‘I don’t know how I survived’ – Survivor of fatal Worcester collision speaks out! A survivor of a fatal collision on the R60 in Worcester has described the accident, which killed five people, as quick and traumatic.
A long-distance minibus taxi from the Eastern Cape collided with a truck in the early hours of Friday morning.
The second driver of the minibus taxi told the publication that he’s struggling to process the accident, whose casualties included three children, as traumatic.

Xolani Makapela said he had just switched with the second driver moments before he saw passengers being flung through the windows.
He said the taxi driver didn’t see the truck when he swerved.
“The truck swung, and people came out from the windows and fell. I don’t know how I survived because I was in front.”
Makapela and other injured passengers have been transported to nearby hospitals, and police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
