Fleurhof residents are accusing police of dragging their feet in making arrests following the death of 11-year-old Jayden Lee Meek.
The grade six learner’s body was found naked and covered in bruises outside his family’s unit on Wednesday morning, a day after he went missing on his way home from school.

Angry community members staged a protest on Saturday, marching to the Florida police station to hand over a memorandum demanding urgent action and better policing in the area.
Community leader Lori Richards said, “We demand more patrol vehicles be allocated to our area without delay. Additionally, we insist that Fleurhof be formally designated a policing sector or two given its size and density. The current policing model does not reflect the realities on the ground, and communities are suffering as a result.”
