South Africa’s delegation on a working visit to the United States (US) did not mince its words, with businessman Johann Rupert telling President Donald Trump that Afrikaners are not the only victims of violence.
Rupert is part of President Cyril Ramaphosa’s delegation currently in the United States (US) to fix the strained diplomatic relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, Trump played video footage of Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema chanting the controversial “kill the boer” to support his claims there’s a genocide in South Africa.
However, Rupert told Trump that the EFF videos are not an accurate reflection of what’s happening in the country.
“We have too many deaths, and it’s across the board. It’s not only white farmers, it’s across the board… I’m building three cottages for my grandchildren on a farm… I often go to bed without locking the door. We have a serious problem with illegality, which streams across the board.”
