Amapiano artist Scotts Maphuma has been reportedly arrested in Mozambique, where he was scheduled to perform over the weekend.
The news broke on Monday, 2 June, when celebrity blog Maphepha Ndaba shared a video on Instagram of a man dressed like the musician, claiming it was Maphuma being taken into custody.

Although details remain unclear, the blog stated, “Scott has been (allegedly) arrested here in Mozambique, says a reliable source in Mozambique, this after he was booked to perform there. Details of the arrest are still sketchy.”
The video has since sparked a flood of reactions from South Africans online, with many expressing shock while others remained skeptical about the authenticity of the footage.
Maphuma, who recently faced backlash in South Africa and issued a public apology to his fans, has not yet released an official statement regarding the incident.
