New photographic evidence emerges in Senzo Meyiwa trial! The Senzo Meyiwa murder trial took a dramatic turn this week as the state introduced previously unseen photographic evidence linked to one of the accused.
Photos Tied to Accused Number Three
During Monday’s session at the Pretoria High Court, state prosecutor Advocate George Baloyi revealed that new images connected to accused number three, Mthobisi Mncube, had been discovered.
The photos were reportedly found on Mncube’s phone and will be formally presented through the testimony of Sergeant Moses Mabasa, the officer tasked with extracting digital data from suspects’ devices.

“We’re bringing in three new photos of accused number three. It is actually one photo shown from three different angles,” said Baloyi.
More Digital Evidence Uncovered
In addition to Mncube’s photos, the state also uncovered images linked to accused number two on a memory card. Notably, two of these images also feature accused number one.
Sergeant Mabasa, who previously testified in 2023 and was recalled in May 2024, is expected to return once more to clarify the origin and relevance of the new material.
Defense Requests Delay
However, the defense requested a postponement. Advocate Sipho Ramosepele, representing accused number two, explained that both Mncube and Sibiya wish to consult their absent legal representative, Advocate Charles Mnisi, before proceeding.
“There is a further instruction from Mr Mncube regarding these photos, and he says he can only give that instruction to Advocate Mnisi,” Ramosepele stated, also requesting time to prepare a written response.
Trial Continues
The high-profile trial will resume on Tuesday.
