Tragedy Strikes After Takeoff
The flight, headed to London’s Gatwick Airport, took off from Ahmedabad airport in western India on Thursday. It crashed shortly after takeoff in the Meghani Nagar area, a densely populated residential neighbourhood.

The 11-year-old Boeing 787 Dreamliner, registered as VT-ANB, is typically capable of carrying 248 to 330 passengers. It was reportedly carrying a large amount of fuel for the long-haul flight to London, raising concerns about the crash’s severity and impact.

According to the city’s police commissioner, no one survived the crash. The exact cause remains unknown, and investigations are underway.
