Tshwane Mayor Moya: Solutions to challenges faced by local govt not out of reach! Tshwane Mayor Nasiphi Moya said solutions to the persistent challenges faced by local government, including poor infrastructure and inadequate financing, were not out of reach as global leaders meet to talk shop.
Moya opened the African Mayors Assembly and U20 Sherpa meeting in Pretoria on Thursday.

She was joined by Johannesburg Mayor Dada Morero and former African Union (AU) chair Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma at a gathering set to shape urban policy on the continent and globally.
This is part of South Africa’s G20 presidency, which is expected to culminate in the leaders’ summit later in 2025.
Moya said she hoped that this week’s talks would influence global leaders.
“The work of this assembly must be grounded in action, it must speak to the real tools we need in order to deliver for the people we serve.”
