Forecaster Lehlohonolo Thobela assured people in Gauteng that no wet conditions had been forecasted.
“It’s just a drop in temperatures. We don’t have rainfall that’s expected with the system. Cold temperatures are expected in Gauteng, clouding from Friday, but into Saturday and Sunday, you can start seeing a pickup and development into back-to-winter conditions.”
Meanwhile, the head of the National Weather Service Disaster Risk Department, Rudzani Malala, urged communities affected by the cold front to stay updated on the conditions.
“We also call on communities to play their part. They should follow a daily routine that includes staying abreast of developments on the weather front.”
