In a video posted online, Makhadzi showed a scar on her forehead, claiming it was the result of a brutal beating.
“Can you see this? I was beaten like a dog,” she said in the clip. “When I asked him why he was beating me, he said it was so I could be uglier, even worse.”
She also shared photos of bruises on her body as evidence of repeated assaults. While she didn’t name her abuser, she described the relationship as once loving before it turned violent.
Fears for Her Life
Makhadzi said she decided to break her silence after her ex threatened to kill her if she released her upcoming album.
“I was beaten like a chicken on Christmas Day,” she wrote. “This album, #OneWomanStanding, holds many secrets. I’m digging my own grave, but I will speak.”
Posts Deleted, But Message Stands
Though the posts were later removed, Makhadzi explained she deleted them to prevent Facebook from blocking her account. She stood by her story, saying the abuse was real and she was ready to tell her truth, no matter the risk.

Her followers expressed shock and concern, with many urging her to seek protection and legal action. However, some questioned the timing of her revelations, accusing her of using the abuse claims to promote her new album.
