Armed robbery at VKB filling station in Mbombela! Two armed men held up the VKB filling station along the N4 opposite i’langa Mall in Mbombela on the evening of Wednesday, July 9, at approximately 18:40.
The suspects reportedly threatened staff before making off with an undisclosed amount of cash, fleeing the scene on foot.

Swift Response, No Injuries
Officers from a private security company were the first to arrive, followed shortly by police. According to reports, no shots were fired, and no injuries were sustained during the incident.
ACS Spartan Security director John Meintjies confirmed the robbery, stating, “We can confirm that two men robbed the filling station and walked away with cash.”
Ongoing Investigation
Brigadier Donald Mdhluli, spokesperson for the Mpumalanga police, confirmed that an enquiry had been sent to officers at Nelspruit Police Station, but no additional details were available at the time of publication.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in identifying and locating the suspects.
