This follows a two-day protest, with community members having demanded the removal of the station commander.
Crime-fighting structures have also alleged that the current police management was failing to fight crime.

Angered by the high crime rate, Mlaba village community members said the current police management is failing them.
Sibongiseni Mkhize was a member of the community in blue, which he alleges has since been disbanded.
“Forums are not working well under this current station commander. We’ve had station commanders before… and the previous commanders worked well with forums in this community, but this one has not.”
Khanyile said they were worried that murders had been on the rise recently.
“Even now, we keep experiencing murder cases. This is the fifth one now. This man is not helping us, hence we want him out.”
EThekwini police district commissioner, Makhosazana Kheswa, has told the publication that she will visit the police on Thursday to address the community’s concerns.
