Young Stunna opens up about industry struggles and personal pain! Amapiano sensation Young Stunna, whose real name is Sandile Fortune Msimango, has shared the emotional struggles that accompanied some of his biggest career moments.

In a heartfelt social media post, Stunna revealed that he never received platinum plaques for his chart-topping singles “Baxolele” and “Dlala Captain”—songs that helped solidify his place in the music scene.

While he confirmed that royalties continue to flow, he admitted that the lack of recognition from his former label, Simnandi Records, left him disheartened.

“Those songs are so important to me, but I kept quiet and kept pushing. The industry taught me painful lessons—like how speaking up sometimes means getting shut down,” he wrote.

Choosing Silence for Mental Health

The artist explained that, over time, silence became his method of protecting his mental health.

“I’ve always known my worth, but being told to ‘just be grateful’ instead of addressing my concerns broke me. No one has ever apologized, but I’ve let go of the resentment. Silence is the best revenge.”

Despite the hardships, Stunna encouraged up-and-coming artists to keep going:

“Take the small gigs, rebrand if you must, but don’t stop because you’re hurt. Move forward anyway.”

Facing Bullying and Staying Resilient

Stunna also opened up about the bullying he’s endured throughout his career, revealing that he’s been mocked for his appearance and targeted with homophobic insults.
“I’ve been called ‘Gay,’ ‘Down syndrome boy,’ and worse… but I pray every day for strength. I’ll never give up,” he declared.

Through resilience, Stunna says he remains focused on his music and hopes his story inspires others facing similar battles.
