DA in KZN concerned about security in province after killing of politicians and traditional leaders

DA in KZN concerned about security in province after killing of politicians and traditional leaders! The Democratic Alliance (DA) in KwaZulu-Natal said it was concerned about security and intelligence in the province following the killing of politicians and traditional leaders.

Two suspects linked to the murder of party councillor in the Umngeni Local Municipality, Nhlalayenza Ndlovu, appeared in the Howick Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.

Ndlovu was shot and killed at his home in Mpophomeni in December 2023.

Party leader Francois Rodgers attended the proceedings.

The two suspects, one a senior inkosi from the district, Zuma, who is involved in a second murder case, appeared before the magistrate.”

Rodgers outlined his concerns: “We had appointed a private forensic investigation team who had determined who was behind this and the motive behind it, we had tried continuously to engage with SAPS and it appears there is something more sinister when it comes to the security and intelligence in the province of KwaZulu-Natal, particularly amongst traditional leaders and politicians.”

The case will return to court on 8 August for bail.
