2 suspects linked to murder of KwaDukuza Local Municipality employee arrested! KwaZulu-Natal police have arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of a KwaDukuza Local Municipality employee.
Nokulunga Mashabane was shot in June while driving on the north coast.
Mashabane was appointed as a manager for intergovernmental relations and protocol in the mayor’s office.

Police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda has confirmed that one of those arrested is Mashabane’s husband.
“An intensive investigation by Kwadukuza police detectives, working together with private security, has led to the arrest of the husband of a woman who was found dead inside a vehicle in Kwadukuza on 27 June 2025. Police investigations also connected a second suspect to the crime, and he was also traced and arrested.”
He said the pair will appear in court on Thursday.
“The two suspects, aged 32 and 26 years old, respectively, will appear in the KwaDukuza Magistrates Court on Friday, 1 August 2025.”
