The Patriotic Alliance (PA) said it was still applying its mind to the court judgment ordering its deputy president, Kenny Kunene, to apologise to Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader, Julius Malema, for calling him a cockroach.
On 17 November 2021, Kunene called the EFF leader a “cockroach” four times during a televised interview.

The Equality Court found Kunene guilty of hate speech and ordered him to issue a public apology.
Kunene appealed the ruling, and on Tuesday, the Gauteng High Court dismissed it.
PA national spokesperson, Steve Motale: “We are still studying the judgment. As you are aware, it was issued out today (Tuesday), so we are applying our mind and as soon as we have satisfied ourselves then we will issue a statement.”
