Learner reportedly dies after getting injured at primary school in Alberton! A learner from Alberview Primary in Alberton is confirmed dead, allegedly after getting injured on the school’s premises. It is understood that the grade three learner died on August 1.
According to Gauteng Education Department (GDE) spokesperson Steve Mabona: “A grade three boy learner was allegedly injured while playing with friends on the field during break at Alberview Primary School. Consequently, the paramedics rushed the child to a medical facility, and he was unfortunately declared dead.”

“We extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved family and the school community at large during this difficult period,” he said.
Mabona added that GDE’s psychosocial support team has been dispatched to the school to provide the necessary trauma support and counselling.
