KZN Transport Department notices spike in road accidents around payday! KwaZulu-Natal’s Transport Department said it has seen an increase in road accidents around payday, especially on the 15th and 25th of each month.

This follows a Department led multi-disciplinary operation this week, which resulted in the arrest of dozens of motorists.

The MEC has indicated that we have observed an increase in road accidents around paydates, particularly during the en of the month. Many people are more likely to be out and about, spending their salaries during this period. This leads to more traffic and increased pedestrian activity, which results in road accidents and fatalities.”
