Detectives hunting 3rd suspect linked to attack on 3 DA MPs in Philippi! Western Cape serious and violent crime detectives are on the hunt for a third suspect in connection with the attack on three Democratic Alliance (DA) members of Parliament (MPs) in Philippi.
Police committee chairperson Ian Cameron, Nicholas Gotsell, and Lisa Schickerling sustained injuries during an attempted hijacking on Tuesday.
They were returning from an oversight visit to the police training college in Philippi when they came under attack in their vehicle.

Taking to social media, Cameron called Tuesday’s incident a serious and deliberate attack that underscored the risks faced during oversight work.
He said, however, that incidents like this would not deter MPs, as they remain determined to carry out their responsibility to ensure accountability and safety.
Police apprehended an 18-year-old suspect after he sought medical assistance at a facility in Lentegeur on Tuesday night.
The teen was wounded when one of the vehicle’s occupants allegedly fired a shot during the attack, and the suspect remains in the hospital under police guard.
In the early hours of Wednesday morning, a 16-year-old suspect was nabbed in Browns Farm.
The suspects face attempted murder and attempted hijacking charges.
