Nigerian music legend 2Baba (Innocent Idibia) has publicly responded to the growing speculation surrounding his marriage to wife Natasha Osawaru, urging fans and onlookers to “cease fire” amid swirling rumours and viral social-media posts.
The controversy began when reports surfaced online alleging that Natasha had been physically and emotionally abusive toward 2Baba. These rumours gained momentum after a series of leaked videos — including one featuring an Instagram Live session involving the couple — sparked public concern about the state of their union.
Tensions peaked when a cryptic message reading “Help me” appeared on 2Baba’s Instagram Story, triggering a wave of alarm from fans and media alike. Many interpreted the post as a plea for help from a distressed partner, further fueling speculation about alleged domestic strife.
In a video statement posted on his verified account, the 50-year-old singer denied ever posting the distress message, claiming someone else did it. He described the whole controversy as “getting out of hand” and warned that continued public interference could endanger Natasha. He appealed for privacy and understanding, adding that although “families do have issues,” he was “perfectly okay” and committed to resolving matters internally.
“I’m perfectly okay… Someone else posted that on my IG; I’m not the one who posted it.”
According to media coverage, the drama reportedly began when two of 2Baba’s former associates appeared on a livestream hosted by popular media personality Daddy Freeze. They alleged that Natasha was controlling 2Baba’s finances and social media presence, accused her of using “Edo juju” to maintain influence over him, and claimed the singer had become isolated from those close to him.
During that same livestream, an argument allegedly erupted between 2Baba and Natasha. Although the full details remain unclear, onlookers reportedly heard shouting and saw the singer exit abruptly — a moment that further stoked public intrigue and anxiety.
In response to the uproar, 2Baba’s statement underscores a plea for calm. By asserting his well-being and calling for discretion, he seemed to be drawing a line between public speculation and their private life. “We will definitely resolve everything,” he said.
The 50-year-old icon’s words have offered some relief to fans, though social media continues to buzz with opinions. Some supporters have rallied behind the couple, urging respect for their privacy, while others remain skeptical, citing past controversies involving the singer.
At this stage, 2Baba appears to want the public narrative to shift away from sensational speculation and toward privacy, trust, and resolution. As things stand, he affirms: he is okay — and wants the chatter to stop.
“This issue is getting out of hand, and you people are putting Natasha on risk. I’m perfectly okay. Someone else posted that on my IG; I’m not the one who posted it. Families do have issues, but we will definitely resolve everything,”
