The vaccine certificate launched officially in South Africa on Friday. Those who have received their vaccinations can access their certificates online.
Health Minister, Joe Phaahla, says features will be added to the vaccine certificate portal.
South Africa exited the third COVID-19 wave on 27 September, according to Phaahla.
He says the wave lasted over 100 days, with it being the worst the country has experienced.
On Friday, the health department briefed the country on the latest COVID-19 stats.
