Is it a croissant? Is it a sausage roll? It’s both! Kids and adults alike will go crazy for this cute new variation on beef sausage rolls made with puff pastry, mince and actual sausages.

– 250g beef mince
– 250g beef sausages, casings removed
– 35g (1/2 cup) fresh breadcrumbs
– 1 egg, lightly whisked
– 3 tbsp tomato sauce, plus extra, to serve
– 1/2 tsp Tuscan seasoning
– 3 sheets of puff pastry, just thawed
– 1 egg yolk, lightly whisked
6 Method / Steps
Step 1
Preheat oven to 220C/200C fan forced. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
Step 2
Place beef mince, sausage, breadcrumbs, egg, tomato sauce and seasoning in a bowl. Stir until well-combined.
Step 3
Cut each sheet of pastry diagonally into 4 triangles. Spoon the beef mixture into a piping bag.
Step 4
Pipe mixture along the longest edge of each pastry triangle. Brush the exposed pastry with a little egg. Roll up pastry from the longest edge to enclose the mixture and form a croissant shape. Place on the prepared tray and brush with egg. Repeat with remaining mixture, pastry and egg.
Step 5
Bake for 30-35 minutes or until puffed and golden.
Step 6
Serve with extra tomato sauce.
