Gagasi FM rubbishes reports of recruiting Selbeyonce! Gagasi FM has firmly denied rumours suggesting it is in talks to recruit popular media personality Selby “Selbeyonce” Mkhize.

The commercial radio station responded swiftly to claims published by Ilanga newspaper, which alleged that Mkhize had been offered a lucrative deal to join their team.

The station wasted no time setting the record straight, describing the claims as “entirely baseless and purely speculative.”

In a strongly worded statement, Gagasi FM expressed concern over the potential harm such misinformation could cause, not just to their brand, but also to the individual named.

“It is deeply concerning that the publication failed to consider the potential reputational and commercial harm such unfounded allegations could cause to both the individual named and our business,” the statement read.

While Mkhize has remained silent on the matter, Gagasi FM’s response makes clear that it wants no part in the ongoing speculation.

The station criticised the lack of fact-checking in Ilanga’s reporting and called on the publication to take accountability by retracting the story and issuing an apology.

“We urge Ilanga and all media institutions to commit to accurate, responsible reporting. We call on Ilanga to retract the speculative claims made in the article and to issue an appropriate correction and apology,” the statement continued.
