Mop-up operations continue in Western Cape amid rainy weather! As the rainy weather persists across Cape Town and the Western Cape, mopping up operations continue in affected areas.
Teams from the aid organisation Gift of the Givers, have been deployed to affected areas, providing humanitarian aid such as bottled water, baby care packs and hot meals to 5,000 people.

Spokesperson Ali Sablay said they will expand their humanitarian efforts to those in urgent need.
“Our teams will be operational in various informal settlements in areas such as Khayelitsha, Gugulethu, Langa, Nomzamo, Lwandle, Dunoon, Valhalla Park, and Klien Vlei.”
The City’s Disaster Risk Management spokesperson, Charlotte Powell, said its NGO partners are providing relief to more than 7,000 people in the form of hot meals and blankets.
“The City thanks its NGO partners who are supporting humanitarian relief efforts necessitated by the inclement weather this week. Assessments continue, but to date, just under 3,000 households have experienced some weather-related impacts.”
