Tyla faces lawsuit over hit song ‘Water’! South African music sensation Tyla is reportedly facing legal action over her global hit “Water.”
California-based producers Olmo Zucca and Jackson LoMastro have filed a lawsuit against Tyla and Sony Music Entertainment, claiming they were excluded from both credit and compensation despite allegedly contributing to the song’s production.
Tyla faces lawsuit

According to the suit, the producers allege that the main credited producer, Samuel Awuku (also known as Sammy SoSo), cut them out of the deal and went on to negotiate exclusively with Tyla’s team.
“In violation of plaintiffs’ rights, Awuku has taken sole credit for the entire production of the song,” the lawsuit states.

Efforts to Resolve Privately Failed
Zucca and LoMastro say they attempted to settle the issue privately but received no resolution. They are now asking the court to recognize them as co-producers and to award them their rightful share of royalties, publishing revenue, and future earnings from the track.

Public Reactions Divided
The news has stirred mixed reactions online. While some fans believe the producers are simply seeking justice, others feel the lawsuit is opportunistic.

One critic commented:
“If you believe in your work, negotiate upfront. Waiting until the song becomes a hit feels more greedy than principled.”
Tyla, known for her rising international profile, has not yet publicly responded to the allegations.
