The investigators in the DJ Sumbody murder case said they had lodged a formal complaint with prosecution bosses over the release of controversial businessman, Katiso “KT” Molefe, in a separate murder case.
Molefe returned to the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, where he made a formal bail application.
He is accused of being the mastermind behind the hit on the popular DJ, whose name was Oupa Sefoka, and Hecter Buthelezi, who went by the name of DJ Vintos.

When Molefe was arrested in July in connection with the murder of DJ Sumbody, he was out on bail and on trial for a hit on Vereeniging engineer, Armand Swart.
Molefe was initially denied bail in the Vereeniging Magistrate’s Court but took that decision on appeal in the high court and was granted bail on new facts by Gauteng Deputy Judge President Aubrey Ledwaba.
Prosecutors have addressed the court on this decision while opposing Molefe’s release.
“The investigating team have submitted a letter of complaint to the Office of Director of Public Prosecution for them to read, review and consider an appeal against the granting of appeal. The DPP’s office indicated that they are considering our complaint.”
Molefe will return to the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court for his bail hearing to continue next week.
